“dear xavia” 19-year-old cristina mendieta designing an art installation through the exercise of designed performance and an expression of the subconscious, cristina, our featured artist, makes her proposition that emotions are genetic. “you pattern what your parents do. this vicious cycle is repeated from generation to generation.” the artist will apologize in advance for the genes she will be passing on to her unborn daughter and responds to her first experience of unrequited love.
